Hi,
I have a confusion with the configuration of the MCU in CallManager when i want to have a multipoint videoconference where 3 SCCP viedo endpoints(7985) and 1 Polycom video endpoint (H.323) participate all in the same confenrence!
Here is attached the architecture of my videoconference deseign.
I have activated SCCP and H.323 on the MCU.
I have added the MCU as a conference bridge in CCM, and configured MRGL to use this Conference Bridge.i associated the MRGL with the 3 video SCCP endpoint(7985) and now i can do Multipoint videoconference between the three video endpoints (7985)!!
The problem that i want to the Polycom participate and to initiate a videoconference with the other SCCP endpoints.
I have added a gatekeeper, i registered the MCU (H.323 activated) with the gatekeeper!! In CCM i added the gatekeeper and added a trunk Gatekeeper controlled!!

Now here is my problem: what else to do in CCM??
Should i create a route pattern that points to the trunk ??
or should i add the MCU as a H.323 gateway and a route pattern that points to the this H.323 gateway???

PLz help me, i really have a serious problem.
Thx

Hello all,

after reading alot of docs about DSP and transcoding and MTP, im confused. lets talk about most real scenario. i have 2 call manager 7835 and media service activated. i have also 2 2821 router with E1 Card each. users around 600 cisco ip phones and 120 3rd party sip phones. do we need DSP resources to call over ISDN.?? we are signle site no transcoding or .. h323 endpoint. does the Cisco 2821 embeded built with one DSP ??? i mean no need to buy another PVDM? i know 2821 can have up 2 3PVDM.

and incase i want to configure a transcoder and enhaced conferencing on the router , will enable SCCP , but also i want to use it AS MGCP gateway with E1 connected to PSTN? so can both SCCP and MGCP be active at the same time? SCCP for enhaced conf and transcoding and MGCP to control ISDN and FXO?

Hi
I am having problems with a T1 circuit (ESF, B8ZS and E&M Winkstart) and CallManager 4.2.

This is terminating on a 2621XM with a NM-HDV.
I can successfully make inbound and outbound calls depending on having the port line in on the pots dial-peer.
If I have the port line in on the pots dial-peer, I can make outbound calls but inbound calls fail. On debug of voice vtdp inout I see there is no Called number. Debug attached.

If I take out the port line from the pots dial-peer inbound calls work and the deb shows the called number. But obviously the outbound doesn't work.
I dont know if the call is failing before it sends the DNIS or DNIS is the problem I dont know enough about e&m.

Hi There,
we have recently moved buildings and before our move we were running video conferencing across two pri links. We had multilink configured and were allowing a max of 10 links to come up. Everything worked well and the quality was good.
Since we moved, the remote site is the same but our new site has a fractional rate line instead of a pri. We have configured things the same as before and it works fine except the connections drops after 10 minutes. I have posted my config below, but I cannot determime see anything which is forcing the link to drop.
we have not changed the configs on the Polycom Video Conferencing units either, so I don't think it should be anything there. Has anyone come across this problem before ?
Thanks
Rob.

Demo CD for IP/TV

Hello there,

I'm trying to find a link regarding the 'Demo CD' for IP/TV. I found several sites via Google with text along the lines of:

"Cisco will send you a free IP/TV Demo CD. This CD contains a time limited copy of all the IP/TV software. The IP/TV server comes with some prerecorded content or it can stream your own live or stored content. Note that the IP/TV products require a PC to run."

...which suggest I order a Demo CD from www.cisco.com/iptv

I can't seem to find where exactly I need to order this Demo CD from.

We'd like to check out this CD and CISCO's IP/TV functionality quite urgently. Please could someone point me in the right direction here?

Thanks,
Glenn

Hi,

We've been trying to get this running in hopes of convincing management that we would benefit from a video solution. I recall this product was quite a performer for basic Multi-conferencing so we purchased it off-market.

Now the problem is finding software! We have the config tool but are struggling to actually setup a conference. The web page seems only to access existing conferences, leaving us in a Catch-22.

Is there a URL we are missing? Or is it yet another software piece??

Any help much, much appreciated!

Thanks,
Erik

Quick question regarding tx-queue. The admin before be placed the following command on every single switch port on the core. Does this mean that everything on 2/9 is in the tx-queue 3 and with a high priority or am I missing something here. If this is the case then this could explain one of the reason for all the bad call quality. Seeing how every port is tx-queue 3 regardless if its a server or not.

Any help is greatly appreicated

I have been assigned the task of setting up videoconferencing between our Polycom ViewStation MP and our desktop Unified video advantage. I have built out the H.323 device our Call Manager 5.1, and I have the video conference unit in the same subnet and vlan. I have assigned the DN to the VC unit. When I call the videoconference unit the call does get picked up by the videoconf unit but after a few seconds the line rings fast busy and the call does not complete.

When I check the logs on the viewstation the message reads "network error".
Any suggestions? I think I am missing some setting on the Polycom viewstation, just not sure where?
Any assistance would be great!

Thank you.

I have been looking high and low for somewhere that can provide a date-time rss feed that I can then put into the display for the dmp's. This is something that one of my prospective customers wants to see.
1) Does anyone know of where there might be a publicly available feed?
or
2) Does anyone have code that they would be willing to share that I can test and give to the customer to "roll their own"?

Hello,

Currently I have a new setup of Meeting Place Express 2.x and Call Manager 6.x. All calls are working properly, and audio is fine.

The problem comes with the Video calls, my meeting place h323 gateway is in device pool A, and all the phones that are assigned to device pool A video works properly when they dial in to the meeting, but when a phone that is assigned to device pool B calls into the meeting, the camera never turns on automatically, it almost seemed like it's not detecting the meeting place call as a video capable call.

I'm not sure what I can check next on this, I tried looking at the locations and regions settings, I tried setting the locations to unlimited bandwidth, and it would still not work.

Not sure where I can look next, any ideas?

Thanks!

I am working with a customer who has Digital Media System using the Digital Signage Module. He is having an issue that when he chooses to delete media under Managing Media - it does not actually delete it.

Has anyone else ran into this? Or is there some other step we need to perform to "purge" the system?
